BC Modular Freestyle Highline Rig Part 2- Performance
The idea to have a fully dyneema freestyle line with bungee anchors is all good in theory, but how will it actually perform in practice? In this video we will be putting our new modular freestyle setup to the test.

We have found some issues with using Webbing Grips on Dyneema webbings that have a Polyester sheath, such as Spider Silk MK4. After our testing we have concluded that using grips on these types of webbings is not safe and should not be done at all! BC Wafer - A Right-Sized Webbing Grip

BC Wafer - A Right-Sized Webbing Grip
Hi ! Thanks for the video ! Is it possible to use a classic linelock to fix the backup on an anchor ? What is the difference between a mightylock and a classic linelock ?
Thanks for summing up the results :) Concerning the differences in tension, as you said, there could be multiple reasons. Even though UHMWPE doesn't have much stretch, it has quite some creeping. Also, when having such low tensions, slippage in a weblock is more likely to occur, which could also affect the tension over time. Just some ideas from my side ;-) Bungees are definitely a game changer in the world of Freestyle Highline :)
I'm here for this!
I would love to see HardIsEasy do an in-depth review of your different line setups!!!
Damn this looks so fun. Good stuff!
I find the bungees on my permarig made it take like 40+ retensionings before it fully settled since there's 30+ strands of cord in the bungees that need to equalize and that takes a lot of time. This was way more than just paradigm on its own which was like maybe 10-15. I also find that the bungees are really temperature dependent, the bottom of the bounce was much harsher at -5C as compared to 20C which was really obvious during the spring as temperatures bounced between those often.
Awesome feedback. Thanks!
Another another day in the woods ❤ it will be awesome! Great analysis buddy! That is future... Maybe the anchor have affected the tension switch? Just i guess! Keep it up 🔥
Future is here! This weblock is soooo beauty
Noice
Ooooooooooooohhhhhh!
Keen to see it! Watching the future unfold
Why not just put a stronger freestyle zone like what slacktivity does with redtube?
This trickzone is actually much stronger than the Slacktivity one because it is double paradigm webbing inside a webbing sleeve- all receiving tension, so they are all sharing the force.
So cool. What are the specs of the line you have rigged now? Length / bungee model? What bungees will you use for the dyneema? Excited to see part 2
60m Paradigm Signature w/ Silk 99 @ 1.4kN, custom length bungees (V6+) from SlackX. I want to rig the dyneema line at 70m+, but I'll need another set of bungees.
Is it better to have the carabineers really close to the tree (making a bit more open angle with the sling) or a 45 degree angle would be better?
90-degrees should be the max angle you have at the tree sling. Anything less than that will work great and not overload the gear.
I'm confused. Do I need a line grip to be able to add a pulley system to the line with that weblock?
Not if you leave the pulley system in the line. To remove the tensioning system, some sort of webbing grip will be needed. There are a few creative ways to get around that, but they are way more complicated and not worth the hassle.
I’m ready to fall
❤🙌🫡🔥🪬🧿
Loving the MK 5, have yet to try the silk 99. Came here for the lightweight stuff but got my eyes caught on that piece of kill bill in the back, any chance it is for sale?
Definitely not :D
Jerry should make ASMR slackline videos
Great! Got this kit a month ago and have been enjoying it immensely. Pieced together how to use it from videos on individual components in the kit, the only thing I hadn't figured out was the intended way to use the whoopie. I had gotten it to work alrigt girth hitching it backwards but the whoopie ended up scrunched and this makes so much more sense. That said, using the compound system put way more tension on my line than I needed and the 3 to one has been enough for now (about 30-40m lines). Expect I'll be glad to have it as soon as I advance to using the whole line length, plus it adds maybe 30 seconds to the setup. Thanks!!
A comprehensive video of all of your webbing would be much appreciated! Bonus points if it included videos of all webbing being walked to see how the line reacts under weight!
Why do you use 2 carabineers on the dynamic anchor when you could just spiral loop it through one? Does it make it easier to pull? 7:14
It reduces friction in the primitive system substantially, giving you more effective pulling power. You can rig longer lines this way without a multiplier.
10:40 at this stage i've found you can just clip a single loop of webbing going down through the ring. Its easier to reset and wont slip if you set it right
Excellent tip, thank you!
This is genius
Sniff
Soft shackle?
Is using aluminum in a weblock not a potential issue because of cyclic loading? I saw it has a 10kn working load, is there no fatigue happening if a line were to repeatedly see those forces?
I show this video to many young girls in the park who can't resist jumping on the lines, rock on 💚
Mmmmmmm daddy
I would prefer the rollex because it has a slot to hold the brake
thank u. hope to try soon
This is the most legendary product launch video of all time. I want to see the UA-cam statistics of this video, I bet most of us watched every second of it 🤤
I just ordered one! I'm stoked to have a first run batch <3
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🫠🫠🫠🫠
You legend
Yay, I don’t have to order from over seas ! Been waiting for you guys to come out with this
Awesome stuff Jerry. I’m curious to see it on a harness.
The asmr of slacklining 😂
Haha, that’s definitely what I was going for :)
Is it possible to use a carabiner?
Yeah definitely for park lines. Under no circumstances should a carabiner be used for highline or longline rigging.
@@BalanceCommunity Why a carabiner is not compatible for longline rigging ?
@@Anto9_ The way we load carabiners with webbing puts a tri-load force on them, resulting in a far lower actual strength. There have been many cases of failed carabiners in longline rigging. Shackles are the preferred connector for this type of slackline.
Spider-Man
Surprised that spider silk has a stretch higher than Mantra. 19g/m on the Silk99 is great for traveling.
This is legendary. Thank you Balance Community.
Awesome video thanks buddy.
🙌✨🙏🙌
Incredible! Thank you
Awesome!🎉
Great video, and pants!🪼
So good thank you!! Really appreciate you emphasizing these points, and the focus on finding stability and control over just making across the line. 🤟✨🦋☁️🦜
Not compatible with heavy?
No, unfortunately, Heavy is too thick
Thank you cheers from France
